67al-MulkUltimate Entitlementسُورَةُ الملك

Elevated in His godsends is He in whose hands is the ultimate possession and control [of everything] and He has power over everything [to do as He wills].

[Elevated in His godsends is] He who has created death and life, so that He would put you to test [so that you would know] which one of you is best in effort; and thus, it is He who is the Greatly Grand, the Dependably Forgiving.

[Elevated in His godsends is] He who created seven celestial elevations in congruence [with each other]: you will not see in the creation of the Mercy-Giver [any] discrepancy. And so look again [at the sky and outer space]! Do you see any incongruity?

Henceforth scan [the sky and outer space] repeatedly: your eyesight will come back to you humbled and exhausted [as there is no inconsistency in the cosmos construct].

And, indeed, We have adorned the earth’s space with [sky] lamps and turned them into catapults against demons: and We have prepared for them the suffering of the blazing fire.

And [likewise] for those who reject their Sustainer there is the torment of Hell — and what a miserable destiny!

If they are cast into it, they will hear its inhalation [wheeze] as it seethes,

Nearly bursting at the seams out of fury; every time a bunch [of God-deniers] is tossed into it [Hell], its keepers will ask them, “Did no warner ever come to you?”

They will say, “Yes, of course a warner did come to us, but we contravened [what he told us] and said, ‘Allah did not bestow anything [upon you]! You [imposters — so-called prophets] are [involved] in a massive misconception!’”

And they will go on, “If only we had listened [to the warner sent to us] and reasoned we would not have been attendees of the blistering flame!”

Thus did they confess to their sins: but [too late for them — for] thrashed are the attendees of the blazing [and blistering] flame.

[By contrast], indeed, those who optimistically fear their Sustainer even though He cannot be apprehended by their physical senses, for them there is forgiveness to be had and a huge reward.

And [know that] if you conceal your declaration [of persuasion] or divulge it, He knows very well what is in the [recessess of your] inner selves.

Is He who created [everything] not capable of knowing [everything]? At the same time He is the Subtle, the Experienced [Very Proficient].

He it is who has made the earth manageable [wieldy] for you: trek, then, through its sectors [zones], and partake of His sustenance; but [bear in mind that] to Him you shall re-emerge [resurface].

Are you secure that He who is in heaven cannot have you sink into the earth, when, lo and behold, it begins to move back and forth?

Or are you secure that He who is in heaven cannot propel against you a violent storm of objects, whereupon you would come to know how [true] My warning was?

And, of course, those in times past did contradict [Us]: but, then, consider how awesome My [destructive] negation [of them] was!

Have they not seen [and thought about] the birds [flying] above them [as they glide] in formation [configuration] and fluctuation? None but the Mercy-Giver keeps them orderly aloft: for, surely, He is attentive to all things.

[Or] who are these troops of yours that [you think] can support you to the exclusion of the Mercy-Giver? Such God-deniers are but situated in self-delusion.

Or who are these that [you think can] provide you with sustenance if He were to withhold His sustenance? Rather, they persist in [ever more] contempt and repulsion [of Him].

But then, is he who walks with tunnel vision better guided than he who walks sober and composed on a straight path?

Say, “[It is] He who initiated you, and has endowed you with [the faculties of] hearing, and insights, and feelings and understandings: [yet] not often are you appreciative!”

Say, “He [it is] who has you proliferate on earth; and unto Him you shall be gathered together [in the life to come].”

[Regardless] they ask, “When is this promise [of a resurrection and hereafter] to be fulfilled? [Give us an answer] if you are among the truthful!”

Say you [O Prophet], “The [precise] knowledge [of the timing of it] belongs to Allah alone; and I am only a transparent warner.”

But then when they see it [the warning] up close and personal, the faces of the God-deniers will become troubled and disturbed; and the word will go out, “This is what you expeditiously wanted [when you were back in the world making fun of it]!”

Say [O Prophet to the God-deniers], “Consider this! What if Allah were to destroy me and those who are with me or He were to bless us with His mercy — who is it that will protect [you] God-deniers from a painful infliction?”

Say, “He is the Mercy-Giver: we have committed [our lives] to Him and placed our trust in Him; subsequently you [the God-deniers] will know who is in apparent error.”

Say [to the God-deniers], “Consider this! What if your water was submerged [suppressed or inaccessible beneath the terrain], who [besides Allah] could provide you with accessible [obtainable] water?”
